Came here today, 10/12/22, and had them install new tires on my V-Star 1100. The service was GREAT! I dropped my bike off in the morning and had it back before the end of the day. They dis a great job and I truly couldn’t be happier, especially since it’s my daily driver. I highly recommend coming here, just be sure to call for availability!
I live & travel full time in my motor home pulling my 2003 Honda Goldwing in an enclosed trailer. My bike broke down in Utah the day before I was scheduled to leave for for the Texas gulf coast. I decided that I would get it fixed along the way on the road.
The local Honda dealer in Albuquerque referred me to J&D cycles as they don’t work on motorcycles over 10 years old. I called them on a Saturday morning from Cortez, Colorado……about 4 hours away, and Doug was willing to look at my bike, just needed to get there before they close for the weekend.
Got there around 4 o’clock, and his son Daniel checked everything out, explained everything in detail, and determined that the alternator was faulty. It was late Saturday afternoon afternoon and they were closed for the weekend and wouldn’t reopen until Tuesday. Understanding my situation, an urgency of wanting to get back on the road and keep moving South, Doug said he would look into finding me an alternator 1st thing Tuesday morning.
So I checked into an RV park for the weekend waiting for Tuesday. I did some of my own research on Monday and was able to find an alternator and had it shipped there, scheduled to arrive Wednesday. I spoke to Doug again on Tuesday to advise of the situation, when the alternator arrived on Wednesday, we scheduled service for Thursday morning when they open.
Thursday morning came, Daniel and the other mechanic Landon both worked on my bike, got me in-and-out in under 2 hours along with charging the battery and fixing a broken engine guard on my Goldwing. Those 2 mechanics were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient. The labor rate was very reasonable compared to many of the dealers, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. A minor setback for me, but taken care of with urgency and efficiency. If you are in the Albuquerque area with any type of motorcycle, I would highly recommend J&D Cycles.
After reading many reviews, I’m not sure what shop is being reviewed. I’ve owned scooters for a long time, mostly Honda but more recently, my wife rode a Genuine Buddy. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Doug. He actually found a buyer for the Buddy. He’s repaired my ’86 Honda Elite to almost-new shape. He’s opinioned, brash – but knows his industry. He’s especially adept at finding parts for older scooters. I have no problem recommending his shop for anyone who needs honest repairs.
I had my 2007 harley sportster 883 dyno tuned at J&D cycle and it totally brought it to life like it was a whole new bike. Got the power right where I needed it and everybody in that shop are good, friendly, down to earth people that will help you out. Highly recommend this shop
I live an hour away so I called to ask if theyd sell and mount tires on my Harley. Guy was very rude. He said they usually dont work on harleys. I said I just want tires. He said he has so many hondas to work on, he cant help me. Not all jobs are hefty paydays. Now I wont take my sport bikes to you.
