these people are thieves. as many others have posted, they keep your vehicle hostage. they stole tools, clothes, camping equipment out of my truck. and 3 guys tried to muscle me off the property. when i finally was able to retrieve the vehicle (with NO help from Jefferson police, i might add, an officer was on the phone with sars in the background saying “i told you not to scrub the info on that truck yet.” shady?) my truck was EMPTIED. if i was the state police i would look into the ‘vandalism’ and other things (read: INSURANCE FRAUD) that happened at sars.
learn from the rest of these comments. NEVER. EVER. DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.

unfortunately my car was in an accident and towed there by the police I went there the next day to retrieve some personal items out of my car and they wouldn’t let me have anything until I or my insurance company payed them and there very nasty about it. After about a week when my Insurance company payed them I was able to retrieve my belongings. Sars has the worst reputation in town and would highly recommend staying far away from this place if you can help it and it would be in your best interest to take your belongings out of your vehicle at the scene of an accident

Very rude and nasty my car was in an accident in Jefferson and it was towed there by police the next day I went there to retrieve my belongings out of my car and they wouldn’t let me until I paid the tow bill. This place is horrible and very creepy especially this old man that works there I can’t believe the town would allow a business like this to tow for them. My advice to anyone who has a car towed there by Jefferson police get it out of there ASAP and report them to the chief of police they are very nasty people

I actually want to put ZERO STARS. This place was horrible. My son’s car was impounded and when I called the next day I was told it would be $35 for storage per day. I said I would be in the next day. When my friend and I pulled down the long narrow gravel driveway surrounded by abandoned junk cars, we were met by several unwelcoming men, demanding to know why we were there and what we wanted. I explained I had come for my car and one of them growled that I needed a release, when I had been told the previous day I only needed to bring cash. I got out of the car and my friend was sure one of the men was going to shoot me. You could just about hear the dueling Deliverance banjos in the background. I told them I was there for my car, didn’t know anything about a release and that I had spoken with some woman the day before. That seemed to work because they begrudgingly let me past their human blockade and directed my friend down a narrow path of rotting, rusted out piles of automobiles to attempt to turn around. Once inside I was told that I had to pay for 3 days of storage even though they hadnt had the car for 3 full day and despite the fact she told me I would pay for 2 days of storage previously. Obviously you cant argue because they will keep your car and probably hide your body in a crushed car out back. These people were off-putting, dishonest and the place was disgusting. If that is the vibe they are aiming for then they’ve achieved their goal. If they want to be a welcoming business they need a little customer service training. Thankfully I got the car and we escaped unscathed. I would never willingly go there for any reason. If a car is ever towed there again Ill send my mechanic to pick it up on his flatbed, no matter the cost.
