I’m from Grand Rapids Michigan I needed a engine , So I called on a engine I found on the interwebs. The price was more than fair , altho it is a 6hr drive one way , so I asked if i could give a deposit over phone …… they said No (that was strange) I asked for vin to run a carfax for the claim the motor only had 168,000 on a diesel, so that is low for one of them . The lady that answered the phone seemed very Un knowledgeable about auto parts
So I came to read reviews….. and I definitely don’t like what I’m reading which is kind of sad because I would have came and bought the motor but I’m also glad that I didn’t because of the practices that other people are talking about that this company does. And if there was only one claim of problem. I probably still would’ve drove down because most people don’t understand how these businesses work and you’re never going to please everybody all the time no matter what you do .
But since there were multiple people claiming the same thing (like raising the price when you get there) or selling you a motor that was never tested which I don’t personally have a problem with because I understand the business. I felt as if this is kind of shady business practice and most reputable salvage yards or recyclers WILL NOT do this under any circumstance. !!! When you’re removing and replacing an engine on a vehicle it’s a time consuming effort plus cost a considerable amount of money for this particular engine oil alone will run you $200 so you need to make sure that when you purchase something that it is accurately described and in good mechanical working order.
I know nowadays customer service doesn’t mean anything but I run a small you tube channel small Business So it’s important that we can trust other small businesses and regretfully I can’t do business with this type of business.

Bought a motor. Took it to mechanic. It had blown head gasket. Junk motor. Had to put $200 in parts and $400 more in labor. Owner says he will give me a deal next time. 3 1/2 hrs away. 2 stars for the owner being polite and the original price of engine. I did feel like he thinks I was lying about the bad engine. I wish I was. That would have saved me tons of time and money.
Update. Have been dealing with a misfire since a got the engine. #5 cylinders valves were toast. Had to replace the head. They never responded to ask about warranty or replacement. They said they do compression checks when they get the cars in but I highly bought that. This engine has cost me way more than a remanufactured or rebuild would have. 80k miles on it, I don’t think so.

Called ahead of time to see if they had the part i needed they told me yes but when i got there it took them 45 minutes to get the part . definitely not in a hurry that’s for sure
