Ordered a 5.7 hemi engine to be delivered upstate. Engine came in the next day was seized up but the guy told me to give him a week and sent me a the good running one. Some tough people to deal on the phone but did get the job done. Perfect for parts however customer service needs to be improved just a bit
Ordered a transmission, Was promised they had it in stock. Drove 3 hours from PA to pick it up. The place is disorganized, unfair, gross. Waited 30 min for someone to bring my transmission. When it finally came out it was the incorrect part. This was disappointing because I provided all vehicle information, and VIN number. They told me they would make it right, they filled up my truck with gas for the inconvenience and promised they would deliver the correct transmission to my shop next day. I called to confirm and the never showed up. They refuse to answer my calls. I’ve been to many salvage yards but this is by far the bottom of the dumpster.
Their website clearly states “Nationwide Shipping”. I called them up to get a transmission for a Honda. Was told they will not ship to Michigan “because I don’t want to”. After reading other reviews. I am glad I did not do business with them.
Response to owner: You never mentioned any damage or lack of testing. When asked why you wouldn’t ship to Michigan. Your response was “because I don’t want to”. Again, thanks for the favor of not selling me something.
On 1/26/2022, an order was placed for a 2013 Lexus ES 350 transmission with supposedly 34k miles and a one year warranty. On 2/5/2022 the transmission was delivered and the rep from the salvage yard insisted that payment be made via cashiers check, which is very unusual. On 2/8/2022 we called the salvage yard to inform them the transmission is faulty. We were re directed to Anthony who is a sales rep who told us a replacement will be shipped. No transmission was received and after 3 long weeks, repeated attempts to contact Capital Auto Salvage failed. Finally contact was made on 2/28/2022 where we requested a full refund. Capital Auto Salvage completely ignored the request and as of 5/15/2022 there has still been no word of any replacement nor any hope for a refund. Avoid any dealing with this company, even if they are your only choice. Their practices are fraudulent, beyond unprofessional, and their customer service is unreachable. When you are lucky to speak to someone ,they place you on hold for periods of time and hang up on you. This is a dishonest scam run by liars.
Dealt with them for the first time a few months back with parts for my transit van. Just got a mint motor for the same thing, pleased beyond belief. Thanks Jimmy. Their delivery guy Noel is the best “HOW ARE YA!”
