I have been working in CT and I looked for and visited a salvage yard there. The people up there at Reidville Salvage near Hartford were horrible. I came home to VA for Memorial Day weekend and pulled a engine for their 50% off sale. My only regret is not going ahead and getting the transmission too. Hardest part of the whole thing was digging out one of the engine hoists from an aisle. A fellow customer/independent parts puller helped knock a few bolts loose after I broke the gears on my ratchet. You just don’t get kind folks like that in most places. Traveling around the US some places make me appreciate Hampton Roads as home more.
The folks here from check-in to check-out are great. I remember when this place opened and I am glad to see it still operating. Salvage yards got it hard with competition for wreaked cars and parts supply. It is nice to do the work to pull parts yourself for a reasonable price.

They charge a small fee to get in but have a huge selection of vehicles to pick from. You’re able to walk freely around the yard which is nice. They also have free wheel barrels to use if you need one. Overall a great junk yard.

The girl at the counter circled themap with the wrong row # there was a Pontiac there but much younger mine was older and I didnt realize that there was an older one like mine on a different row. I probably will go back and look at that older Pontiac I missed. had a great experience otherwise and you cant beat the prices on the parts

As far as self service junkyards go Pick-n-Pull (formally known as U-Wrench-It) is definitely one of the better ones. Up front pricing, a decent selection of parts, and very knowledgeable employees. Plus the online inventory makes it easy to figure out if they have a specific vehicle before you head out so you can cut down on unproductive trips. I have been coming here for many many years and I plan on continuing to come here for the foreseeable future.
